Als ich 1993 in Lucknow bei Papaji war, h\u00f6rte ich davon, dass Christopher in Bodh Gaya, Indien, und auf der Bodhi Farm in Australien Vortr\u00e4ge hielt. Ich hatte ihn treffen wollen, und meine Gelegenheit kam 2009 in Tiruvannamalai. Er stimmte sofort einem Interview zu, und obwohl er mit seinem Retreat besch\u00e4ftigt war, traf er mich am n\u00e4chsten Tag. Er ist sehr englisch, witzig, verspielt und zugleich tiefgr\u00fcndig. Christopher Titmuss lehrt einen geerdeten Weg des Erwachens durch ehrliche Selbstbefragung und Freiheit des Seins. Er betont, dass Erleuchtung kein dramatisches Ereignis ist, sondern ein nat\u00fcrliches Entfalten, und warnt vor der westlichen Fixierung auf das Erreichen besonderer Zust\u00e4nde. Das Gef\u00fchl von \u201eIch\u201c wird als vor\u00fcbergehender Halt gesehen, und wahre Befragung offenbart, dass das, was wir f\u00fcr das Selbst halten, nicht das ist, wer wir wirklich sind.<\/p>

Er legt Wert auf Praxis, aber nur, wenn sie authentisch entsteht \u2013 nicht aus Streben oder Ego. Der Geist ist kein Feind, der zerst\u00f6rt werden muss, sondern ein Werkzeug, das harmlos wird, wenn man sich nicht mit ihm identifiziert. Vasanas, also mentale Neigungen, m\u00fcssen f\u00fcr die Realisation nicht eliminiert werden; entscheidend sind Weite und Klarheit.<\/p>

Titmuss lehnt starre Vorstellungen von Schicksal oder freiem Willen ab und sieht das Leben als einen sich entfaltenden Prozess jenseits von Kontrolle. Den wahren Meister sieht er als die Wahrheit selbst, nicht als Person, und bevorzugt spirituelle Freundschaft gegen\u00fcber Devotion zu einer Figur. Hingabe wird respektiert, aber nur, wenn sie mit Befragung verbunden und frei von Projektionen ist. Christopher Titmuss ist ein spiritueller Lehrer, Autor und ehemaliger buddhistischer M\u00f6nch, geboren 1944 in London. Nach einer tiefen Phase der inneren Suche verbrachte er ein Jahrzehnt in Asien \u2013 davon sechs Jahre als M\u00f6nch in Thailand und Indien \u2013 und studierte intensiv bei Ajahn Dhammadharo und Ajahn Buddhadasa. Diese Jahre pr\u00e4gten seinen geerdeten, einsichtsorientierten Ansatz zur Freiheit.<\/p>

Seit den 1970er-Jahren lehrt er international \u2013 in Europa, Australien und Indien \u2013 und begleitet Suchende auf dem Weg zur Befreiung durch Achtsamkeit, ehrliche Selbstbefragung und ein Leben frei von spirituellen Klischees. Er propagiert das, was er \u201eFreiheit des Seins\u201c nennt, einen nat\u00fcrlichen Zustand jenseits von Ego, Konzepten und Streben.
