Ma Souris, die Tochter des Telugu-Schriftstellers Chalam, wuchs in einem stark westlich gepr\u00e4gten Haushalt auf und lehnte Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi zun\u00e4chst fast instinktiv ab. Mit vierzehn Jahren, nachdem sie sein Foto in einer Zeitung gesehen hatte, urteilte sie hart \u00fcber ihn und tat seinen Namen und seine Titel als k\u00fcnstlich ab.<\/p>

Ihre Sicht \u00e4nderte sich nach dem ersten Besuch ihres Vaters im Sri Ramanasramam im Jahr 1936. Als sie h\u00f6rte, wie er Bhagavans Lehre erkl\u00e4rte \u2013 dass Geist, Sinne und K\u00f6rper nicht das Wirkliche sind und dass man das wahre \u201eIch\u201c entdecken m\u00fcsse \u2013, sp\u00fcrte sie, dass dies direkt auf Fragen verwies, die sie seit ihrer Kindheit in sich trug. Sie las Wer bin ich?<\/em>, begann mit der Praxis der Selbsterforschung und erlebte durch die Meditation zunehmende Stille, Hingabe und inneren Gewinn.<\/p>

Als sie Bhagavan schlie\u00dflich in Arunachala begegnete, f\u00fchlte sie sofort ein wortloses Wiedererkennen und fiel in seiner Gegenwart oft in tiefe Versenkung. Obwohl sie anfangs mit den Ritualen des Ashrams zu k\u00e4mpfen hatte, ver\u00e4nderte die aufrichtige Hingabe der anderen ihre Haltung, und sie begann, Sch\u00f6nheit in allem zu sehen, was Bhagavan tat.
