<\/strong>Fr\u00fch am Morgen kommt wie \u00fcblich der Sarvadhikari [Manager] mit einem nassen Dhoti [Baumwolltuch] und wirft sich vor Bhagavan nieder, dessen Augen geschlossen sind. Der meditierende Aghori und ich sind die einzigen Anwesenden in der Halle. Ich beobachte den Meister in einer meditativen Haltung und habe, wie immer bei solchen Gelegenheiten, meine Augen geschlossen. Der Sarvadhikari erhebt sich; er verweilt einen Sekundenbruchteil l\u00e4nger als sonst. Dann geht er auf die T\u00fcr zu.

S.: Es ist nichts… (nach ein paar Augenblicken, unaufgefordert). Es gibt ein kleines Problem… Ich habe \u00fcberlegt, ob ich Bhagavan damit bel\u00e4stigen soll…

S.: [wie Dampf, der aus dem Schornstein eines Zuges dringt] Perumal scheint wild entschlossen zu sein, uns mit jedem Tag mehr und mehr Schwierigkeiten zu bereiten. Es scheint, dass er jeden Morgen zusammen mit einem oder zwei b\u00f6sen Brahmanen-Komplizen, um seinem Gerede Glaubw\u00fcrdigkeit zu verleihen, und einigen seiner gleichgesinnten Kumpanen in der N\u00e4he des Kambaththu-Ilayanar<\/em>Samadhi steht, Passanten anspricht und ihnen erfundene Geschichten \u00fcber Sri Bhagavan erz\u00e4hlt, die ihn in ein schlechtes Licht r\u00fccken sollen.
<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Neulich hat Sudaresan deswegen hemmungslos bei mir geweint. Gestern hat der elende Verleumder diesen Anglo-Inder vor dem Ashram in die Enge getrieben. Er hat sich als offizieller Inkassobeauftragter des Ashrams ausgegeben und von dem Engl\u00e4nder Geld verlangt. Dieser t\u00f6richte Mensch hat ihm Rs. 150 gegeben! Soeben habe ich die Nachricht von Chinnayyan erhalten, der die ganze Szene diskret aus der Ferne beobachtet hatte. Perumal hatte ihn aus dem Augenwinkel gesehen; damit er uns nicht sofort alarmiert, hat der Schurke bis zum Einbruch der Nacht mit einem dicken Kn\u00fcppel vor dem Ashram Wache gehalten und Chinnayyan mit drohenden Gesten angestarrt.
<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Chinnayyan ist sofort geflohen, weil er einen Angriff f\u00fcrchtete. Als er zu mir kam und es mir erz\u00e4hlte, war ich ersch\u00fcttert. Sogar rechtm\u00e4\u00dfige Spenden, die dem Ashram zukommen sollten, die ernsthaft als Zeichen des guten Willens von Bhagavans Anh\u00e4ngern angeboten wurden, gehen auf diese Weise verloren. Ich habe daran gedacht, zur Polizei zu gehen. Ich frage mich, ob Bhagavan dieses Vorgehen guthei\u00dfen w\u00fcrde…

S.: [erhellend] Heute nach der Mittagsmahlzeit werde ich vier oder f\u00fcnf Devotees zusammenrufen und…….
<\/em>B.: [unterbricht] Was zweifelst du? Nat\u00fcrlich wird das nicht erfolgen. <\/strong><\/p>


S.: Aber [selbst] wenn man von den finanziellen Verlusten absieht, k\u00f6nnte der Ashram wegen seiner verleumderischen Aktivit\u00e4ten bei den Besuchern unbeliebt werden. Nat\u00fcrlich werden diejenigen, die einmal Darshan von Bhagavan erhalten haben, seinen Verleumdungen nicht glauben, aber einige leichtgl\u00e4ubige Neuank\u00f6mmlinge k\u00f6nnten von ihm get\u00e4uscht werden…
<\/em>B.: [lacht] Ist das deine Sorge? Wenn die Leute seinetwegen ganz aufh\u00f6ren, hierher zu kommen, wird ihm das gesamte Verm\u00e4chtnis in ewiger Dankbarkeit vermacht werden! [scheinbar nachdenklich] Aber was hat dieser Bettler zu bieten? Einen Stock, drei Lumpen, einen abgenutzten Wasserkrug: wer will das alles?<\/strong><\/p>
